Techno-economic analysis (TEA) and life-cycle assessment (LCA) are how the cultivated-meat field measures whether a process can be affordable and environmentally competitive at scale, and both rest on reusable inventory data: growth-medium compositions, energy and material flows, titers, and yields. This page collects the downloadable cultivated-meat life-cycle inventories that AI-assisted cost and environmental models can train and validate against. The tools that build these models live in Software.md / Techno-Economic & Life-Cycle Assessment, and the background inventory databases they draw on are in Databases.md / Life-Cycle Inventory & Sustainability Databases.

Cultivated-meat life-cycle inventories

The two artifacts below are the primary-data life-cycle inventories behind the most-cited cultivated-meat LCAs. Each pairs medium and process inventory with the peer-reviewed study it accompanies, so a model built on one can be traced back to its assumptions.

Sinke et al. 2023 cultivated-meat ex-ante LCI

Primary inventory data collected from more than 15 companies and research institutes spanning cultivated-meat production and its supply chain (5 of them cultivated-meat producers), the most-cited primary cultivated-meat life-cycle inventory and a reusable backbone for environmental modeling of cultured meat. It is built on ecoinvent 3.7.1 and Agri-Footprint 5.0 and distributed as open (CC-BY) electronic supplementary material (correction at https://doi.org/10.1007/s11367-023-02183-9). Risner et al. cradle-to-gate cultivated-meat LCA

The Supporting Information carries the Essential-8 and Beefy-9 growth-medium compositions, microbial yields, and titer data underpinning the media-component inventory, a reusable media-impact analysis artifact.
